It's Sad But True

I officially change my cell number to Salt Lake.
Let me know if you didn't get it.

August 19 - Gut Wrenching Laughter

A bunch of us saw Brian Regan at Thanksgiving Point. I've included a clip for those of you that haven't heard of him before. The funniest parts were when he made stuff on the spot. For example, he messed up on one of his doctor jokes and made fun of that for like ten minutes. He also commented on how many bugs were on stage with him, then an audience member brought him some bug spray...he had a good time with that. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. If you ever have a chance to see him, jump at it.

August 17 - Whoa Nelly...

I've been so tired of the fact that I was not caught up on my blog entries. I have this crazy need to post things in order. So I decided to just post everything, so I can make current entries as I go now. (Thank you home internet) I kinda got carried away. Sorry. May I suggest you go back and read them in chronological order as things might make a little more sense.

Some bad news as well. My camera, after teasing me with bad focusing, now refuses to turn on at all. I have a warrantee but will probably be pictureless until it gets taken care off. I carry my camera around with me in my purse, so no one wants to get this fixed as fast as possible more than I do.

August 16/17 - Weird Workout

So I finally joined a gym here, thanks to Gastronomy's corporate discount of $25 instead of the $40/$55 I was playing in San Fran. I even signed up for a personal trainer. I had five 25 minute session with Roger and it kicked my trash. So much so that my legs even gave out from under me one session. Because of which I had very little desire to push myself outside of those sessions. Now that I am on my own I am having more success. In fact, I took full advantage for the first time on my 24 hour gym and worked out from 12:30-1:30am. It was pretty sweet.

August 5/6 - TP Trouble

August 4 - Games Anyone?

So I love games. Say the word and I'll come runnin'. I joined Nikki and Joey at their family reunion to do so. The game of Spoons found it's way from our last camping trip. This time with a few more...15 at one point. Why are these things so addictive?

Before...After!

August 4/7 - What The?

Don't you love when you get to walk under something like this leaking from your light? Why is it that color? I don't even want to know.

August 3 - Cruisin' in Style

Whenever Amanda's Uncle goes out of town, she get's to car-sit his 2006 Mustang GT. It is a beautiful thing and so hard not to love.

August 2 - What a Treat

New adorable friends, Becky and Caleb. The best ice cream display. Thanks Brandon.

July 31 - Girls Nights

The Melting Pot, a pricey local fondue restaurant, had a special Girls Night offer. A bunch of us decided to attend. However a few days before breaking news indicated that there was a murder investigation happening at that restaurant. They found a nine year old boy in a garbage can in the kitchen. No thank you. We quickly canceled our reservation and decided to treat ourselves to Benihana's instead. Stephanie, Nikki and Amanda (My camera started developing focus issues. Grrr)

July 29 - Neph...few

My only nephew, Porter, takes his fingers two at a time.

July 27 - Lagoonies Again

I worked at Lagoon for five seasons back in the day. Thanks to modern technology I was able to reconnect with some old Lagoonies for a night. We ate at chili's with the worst server ever and then drove around reminiscing. We ended up at front gates of the amusement park an hour before closing. With a quick phone call we were in and laughing.

Skyriding with Chris
Bumper Cars Waiting

We made the employee plug the machine back in for these pictures. It was way past closing and he was putting it away. It was the only one that could fit us four in the booth.
So old school. Love it.
Chris moved to AZ for pharmacy school. It was just a brief reunion but great to see these crazy kids again all grown up.

July 27 - We Wii

I introduced the wii to my roommates. Wii 'til 3 or was it 4? Katie and Stephanie getting the boxing workout after some late night Wendy's and nail painting. It really is trouble when we are all home together. There isn't much sleep happening.

July 26 - Unbirthday

I was surprised to receive flowers at work from the wonderful Brittany (not a boy, dang it). Never have I had flowers delivered at work. They were beautiful and so thoughtful. It sure made me feel special. Thank you Brittany!

July 21 - Roommaties

After almost three weeks of living at my new apartment, I found myself for the first time home at the same time as my two new roommates, Stephanie and Katie. We did the dishes together, grabbed some groceries and then hit up the Pie Pizzeria around the corner. Walking back from the Pie we ran through the sprinklers to cool off. While we were eating on our dinner outside we heard the fireworks for the Real Soccer game going off. So we found ourselves with our plates of pizza in hand sitting on the curb on the corner enjoying the show. We ended up talking all night. It's crazy how things work out. These two have already been a big blessing in my life.

July 24 - Pioneer Traditions

On July 24 in Utah we celebrate the arrival of the Pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley. There is always a parade and we would go every year growing up. My two nieces, Madison and Morgan, have never been. So my mom and I took them. We parked in the exact same place and sat on the exact same lawn. Next year we decided that we are going to camp out the night before.

July 20/24 - Camp Tye

Amanda's family has a new "cabin" this year outside of Heber. It is shared amongst the eight brothers, so when the Ronald Tye family gets a turn it is quite a treat. Every time I go up there is a new addition. This last time, the Tye brothers used the left behind telephone polls to make a zipline and adultsize swing. We had invited a bunch of friends to the "cabin" and played one of my favorite games. Have you ever heard of Nert? It is group speed solitaire. Love it.

July 14 - New Bear Lakers

My family has started a tradition of camping together once every summer(late in life). This year my mom decided they would stay at Bear Lake for the first time. I join them after my shift at the restaurant for one night. Despite the fact that it was too dry to have a fire and the mosquitoes were biting like crazy,

I think that Bear Lake has captured the hearts of my family and will now return every year like so many other families do.
Pictures: Heather's defense against the mosquitoes.
My very sunburnt two sisters and mother.

July 13 - Like Old Times

I met friends up camping at the Spruces for one night. We roasted hot dogs and marshmellows and talked around the fire. Once it got a little later, we moved the festivities into the tent trailer for a mean session of the game Spoons. Once 1:30am-ish rolled around, we had a knock at the door from the neighboring campers indicating our noise level

being too high. Oops. After high school we did a lot of camping like this together and it seemed like we were 18 all over again. Good times.

Celebrate

We celebrate August 12th as the first official day of finally being connected to my own wireless internet.
Wahoo! Let the blogging begin.

A Great Loss

I am so grateful for the example and guidance of good men like President Faust.

President James E. Faust, 87, Second Counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a general authority for nearly 35 years, died early today.

A news release from the LDS Church said he died at his home of "causes incident to age," surrounded by his family. The time of death was reported as 12:20 a.m.

Tastie

Did you know that Provo has a Leatherby's? Amanda and I went to see her friend, Brent's new house in Utah county and hit up the Leatherby's after. I had the delicious Rainbow Sherbet. Amanda usually gets the vanilla with carmel, but they were all out of vanilla. What ice cream business runs out of vanilla? It's absurd I tell you.

O' Canada!

It has been years since I have been up to visit Canada. So I was excited that my job schedules worked out for me to attend my sisters sister's wedding. :)

Heather, Madison, Morgan and I decided to head out early or late (12:30am) for our 14 hour drive. These two were great passengers. The Bride-to-be at the family gathering at the dirty Pizza Hut.
This backdrop took us/me forever. It might look thrown up,
but I assure you it was not.
This is pretty much how the whole weekend felt.
Our first night Daddy Trymer shared his shake making skills with us while we played Phase Ten. However the rest of the house was sleeping, so he used this pan and a potato smasher.
Surprisingly delicious at 2:00am.
When you are getting ready in a full house,
you utilize every spot and outlet.
The finishing touch.
I got put in charge of the musical entertainment for the evening.
I'm glad that I brought my cd's along for the ride.
This scene is quite common when you have five nieces.
The hardest part is not to laugh.
James and Natalie starting quite the ride.
Madison is going to be a heartbreaker.
We girls decided to have our own fun the night of the wedding.
Karoke, cocktails, leftovers until three or was it four.
Canadian soothers to help us get through the construction behind a semi during the 14 hours back home after two days.
Why is it that road trips turn your hood into a graveyard?
I had a seriously good time. My family might be a little crazy, but I think I fit in just right.
