American Idol

I watched American Idol finale last night and couldn't help but think two things:

1) Syesha Mercado looks like Zoe Saldana from Drumline

And...
2) Randy Jackson looked like Captain Kangaroo

April 17 - Theatrical Thursday

On Theater assignment I had to report on a local production. Knowing nothing, I recruited Jen Jan and Marin to see The Clean House with me. We went to the wrong theater and had to be escorted in the back door.
Turned out highly enjoyable and funny. If it comes to your neighborhood...I would recommend your attendance.
After which we went joined in our typical Thursday night activity of country dancing at Studio 600.
Which is followed up a wind down at the local Village Inn. Not that Village Inn is of quality, it's just the only place that is open at the 1:30am on a Thursday night.

April 16 - Final Frenzi

So as previously mentioned, Renee and I did our final performance together in Theater. Our teacher assigned us a script. We got the female version of the Odd Couple. I played Florence a women whose husband has just left her and she goes to her friend, Olive, for comfort. Florence is over the top drama queen, constantly burdened with a cramp or sickness. She is a clean freak and very proper. Olive is a slob and sarcastic, who has already gone through a divorce of her own. I think I could have played either part. ;)
It went well. Renee and I had the same work ethic, so we were probably the most prepared in the class and performed first. But I was feeling under the weather the whole week, and ended up tweaking it accordingly and felt like it could have been better on my end.

Renee was awesome. Really good at being annoyed and I did a pretty good job at being annoying.
I had to make these awful "moose" noises. They said it was hysterical. It took me a little time to do it without laughing. Sorry this isn't a video for your entertainment.
Scene takes place in Olive's messy apartment.
Theater is one of those random things that I wanted to try. My friend, Anna from the class talked about taking the second course together in the spring after she gets back from Europe. I would also love to do a musical some day.

April 12 - P Town

Thanks to Visiting Teaching, Steph and I made a pretty super fantastic friend, named Macie. She had to move home to Lehi with short notice and so we decided to go down to the P Town to cheer her up.

We started at the Brick Oven. We went alittle nuts on the salad bar.
And Apple Beer
It eventually became necessary to leave Steph alone on your own bench.
It was quite scary...and smelly.
We were driving around trying to decide what to do next, when this car full of people driving next to us gave us their gold fish. Steph was incredibly excited and named him Gus Gus.
We then drove past Classic Skating and decided to get some socks at the Smith's across the street. To say we were in a silly mood, would be an understatement.

There was only 30 minutes left. We tried to get away without paying...but it didn't work. There might have been a bruise or two earned.
The was pretty much the funnest impromptu 30 minutes possible.
In memory of this super fantastic evening together we signed and dated our new socks.
A classically silly evening that I will never forget.

April 12 - Dealin' It

I took a theater course this semester and for my final performance I worked with a partner, Renee. We had planned to do a practice on Saturday morning. When I called her to confirm she said to me...I don't think I'm going to make it. What? Why not? Because I'm standing in line to audition for Deal or No Deal. Really? You could come join me in line and we can practice here. Really? Um, ok. So I did. I waited with her for four hours. We practiced our lines several times. It was nuts there. I was easily dismissed. She made it two rounds because she makes cool animal noises.

Two crazy girls standing among the chaos.
Utah Blase dog entertaining the crowd.
On the front line. Ready. Set. Go.
Overall a funny experience and a big waste of time. I'm not crazy enough to be picked out of thousands of people. You have to spend more time with me to know that. :)

April 11 - Kerfuffle Krazy

I went to a concert at the University. It was a really silly night. We didn't care about the bands. I realized this post is more just a tribute to my friends.

Steph, Annette, Mindy, Brigham
Steph
Annette
Anna & Sadie
I went up front with Anna and Sadie. We were literally the first ones in front of the speakers for Shiny Toy Guns. I had to put tissue in my ears. My pants were vibrating. It was nuts. This video doesn't do it justice. I'm sure I have some permanent damage.

Tami just happened to walk/push by.Mckay and Jen Jan
Marin, E, Travis, Ammon, Annette and Jen wined down with pizza at Stoneground.
