June 19-22 - Canadian Bliss

I flew to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for my friend, Amy Hamilton's wedding. A handful of girls from the ward made the effort to go. This is Korin and Deb while we waited on the curb for our ride.
A quick stop at the tasty Tim Hortons, a Canadian must.
Our second stop right from the plane was a unique bachelorette party at a pottery shop. We all decorated plates and bowls for Amy's dishes.
Afterward we walked over to Amy's sister's home for some goodies and to watch a special video the Maid-of-Honor pulled together from the friends back in Utah.
We all retired after a special honeymoon gift was given with some explanations from another friend who knew a little bit more and like to give advice.
Oh and some flying. :)
I came along a little later in the plans, so I pulled up a foam mattress for the night. Not a big deal for those who know me....I can sleep anywhere.
Bright and early, we made our way to the Edmonton temple. Korin McDonald, Deborah Peterson, Lisa Pectol, and Rebecca Holt.
It was a beautiful ceremony with many, many in attendance.
The weather was perfect, despite the fact that it had rained all week.
Beautiful bouquets: sister Becca, bride Amy, roommate Korin, bff Rebecca
We all then traveled an hour and a half south to a luncheon program at the groom's home church. This adorable boy stole my heart.
It was a Celebration. Including a challenging way to make the bride and groom kiss. Here is the groom making it look easy.

The girls at the head table.. The food was delicious.
We joined the wedding party at a garden landscape for some photos and tried not to be eaten to death by the mosquitoes. The photographer did some fun shots. At the wedding party loved it.
A quick stop at the grocery store for some incredibly destructive supplies. Then off to man the guest book...
And to devour more tasty eats. They didn't announce the cake cutting so only a handful of us watched the polite exchange. Then off to no good.Amy had a real chance for nourishment.
Then walked off to her happily ever after.
It was a delight getting to know these Utah girls a whole lot better. What beautiful people.A groomsman invited us over to finish out the evening with a hot tub soak. As others were carrying on flirtations, I spent some time on the patio. It was a perfect summer night with the temperature and stars in the rural town of Lacombe.Day three we hitched a ride with Amy's brother, Nathan back to Edmonton. We stopped at a gas station that didn't seem to be much of a gas station in the middle of no where.Nathan's car was scary and we managed to cram six of us in that Honda. I supported a duffel bag with my legs to create a back for the one straddling the emergency break in front of me for an hour and a half.
We got a kick out of the situation and entertained ourselves with games and singing songs.
An Edmonton trip would not be complete without a trip to the largest mall in Canada which contained a dedicated leg to China. I found my favorite Chinese buns in a bakery. Oh Happy. We spent six hours in the mall. After Nathan was done with work, we BBQ's at his place.
After dinner, we went to rent a movie, but the scary Honda broke down turning the first corner almost getting hit by a bus. Thank Heaven it didn't happen on the way from Red Deer.
We made other arrangements to get to the airport the next morning at 5am and were off. A very eventful weekend. The Hamilton's were just as I know Canadians to be. They took us in like family. In a very unexpected twist, Lisa and Amy's brother, Nathan, hit it off and are to be married October 10th!

What?? How does someone know in a matter of a couple days that they are ready to spend the rest of their lives with someone???? It took me months and sometimes I still wonder if I made the right decision!!!!!!!!!!! :)
