Memory Lane

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

I thought I would take this opportunity to post some ridiculous pictures of myself.

June 5-7 - Ward Moab

The new roomies and I, still unpacked, hopped in the car to Southern Utah to meet up with our ward.
After setting up the tent in the dark, we woke up surrounded by a city of tents and fresh pancakes.
We suited up and headed out to the river.
While we waited for the rest of the group to catch up, we might have taken a picture or two.
Crash course in river rafting...Group One
Being new to the sport, I put my trust in my friends hands...
only to be pulled in by one of the 'experienced'. Traitor.
While waiting for the leadership to catch up, I ran my radio too long on my weak battery.
Not a problem though. Help was close by.Going to the Water Hole, we had to stop for a bathroom break, and had to wait again for the rest of the group.
We finally made it and up the cliff.
And for the first time I cliff jumped.
It was higher than it looks here.
This is maybe a third of our group.
Marin, Ashley, and I slept under the stars. I probably saw a dozen shooting stars that night. It was incredible.
Day Two. Run Two. The Two Roomies.
Ready. Set. Go.
Group Two.
Experienced Paddlers
Trusting again.
We were in full on battle mode with the other raft.
The Relief Society Presidency
Pondering our hats.
This Moab trip was the Seventh Ward's four annual, but with new stake and ward leadership, I was informed it would be our last. I loved every minute of it. Talk about an incredible experience.

June 2 - Yet Another Move

I moved two houses up the street. My fifth move in three years. The Elders Quorum came to help me. It was an impressive 45 minutes passing what we could over a fence and cutting through the neighbor's backyard.
My former occupancy
Until we tried to move the couches out of the basement...
Many minds tried to figure this one out. Steph and I moved the two DI couches in by ourselves, it didn't seem like getting them out would be such a challenge. Boy, was I wrong.
With all of the burly brethren around, I gave the very important task of documenting to my friend, Elyse, so she wouldn't have to sweat much. She ran away with it. And everyone else says that I'm bad.

These videos probably shouldn't be shared, but I just adore Elyse and it brings a smile to my face every time. I could only hope it will bring a smile to your face too.

It really can be done.

The crew...some of which only supervised...in front of our new place. As this move was unplanned for all three of the new roomies, it's timing couldn't have been more off. All three of us were headed out of town at the very time we should have been moving in. After this eventful evening, Marin and I picked up our final third from the airport to welcome her home and start a new adventure together.

May 29-June 1 - Goodbye Weekend

I wanted to go to San Francisco to see my friends before the big graduation and scatter. So I flew in late one Thursday night to this beautiful coastal sunset.
Sweet Nikki rescued me from the airport and put me up in wonderful accommodations, much better than what I had to offer her. It did come with an early walk up call. I joined her for the bright and early carpool into Lucasfilm. (A small preview of what I could enjoy if I returned to the Bay area.) But I was then rewarded with the greatly missed omelet and bacon; a regular occurrence for the two of us.
After an entire unplanned day of visiting former coworkers, I met the Ferres, Hudsons, and amazing Brittany at the incredible Barney's complete with an oreo shake.
It was so nice of Patrick and Heidi to take some time to visit despite the crazy Board schedule I invaded. Thanks Russ for watching Cadence so I could steal Brittany away. It made me feel so special.
Speaking of Boards, Brittany, like the good wife that she is, was a patient for Russ. So that meant the girl, Cadence, and I got to spend the afternoon together. We played like an impostor with the other cute moms in San Rafael. It was neat to kinda fake motherhood just once. Then Katie took us in like she wasn't already juggling a millions things. After an exhausting afternoon of playing with our friends, we devoured burritos from Gordos. (Can you see how important food was to me during my visit?)Dessert was enjoyed down on Chestnut Street while we did some highly enjoyable people watching.
It's important to mention the prime parking we scored and had to take a picture of.The combination of the late hour, the sugar, and the desire to not part ways on our last night in our favorite city, we decided to run down Lombard Street. Yes, run. And run we did. A lot. We amused quite a few people including ourselves. This is one of the less embarrassing photos believe it or not. Off to Baker Beach, under the impression that in the middle of the dark night, we might be able to take some great photos. This is the last photo of the four of us together. These three women have forever touched my heart and improved my life. They are among many in San Francisco that held my hand and I will never be the same person because of their love and example. San Francisco will always hold apart of my heart.

Bizarre

I don't know when it happened. Sometime this summer I entered this bizarro world where at least once a week someone I know is engaged. It feels like a time in San Francisco where it was like once a week someone was announcing they were pregnant. Either way, I've not fit in.
